These are a few of my favorite things...Right Now

Paparazzi Love

Since I work at a Salon I think I have to learn how to do this and then do it everyday!

Brilliant! Beautiful!
"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."
--Martin Luther King, Jr.

Awesome Advice from a Therapist on being a Therapist:
1) Learn a lot about the way the world really is.  Ride along with cops.  Volunteer at jails.  Observe in emergency rooms.  Observe family therapists (obviously, the family has to agree).  Find out what happens to people when they are in stressful situations.  You cannot be aloof from your clients' lives but you also need to learn how to keep your boundaries, not only in regard to the usual patient rules but also for yourself.  If you carry your clients home, you might find you and your family need therapy! 2) Remember clients only tell you what they want you to know.  Don't be cynical, but be cynical.  3) Have a good memory.  Lies don't hold up to a good memory. 4) Do a family tree and try to remember the players, present and absent. 5) Be empathetic, not sympathetic.  Sympathy takes sides.  6) Have a real life which does not include other therapists and does include real fun.  It prevents or postpones burnout.  7) Don't take yourself too seriously.  You're just not that big a deal no matter what clients tell you.  8) Be involved, interested and interesting.  Therapy is work but it shouldn't be punishment.
